We run a menswear repair and alterations shop in Napier. We take in clothes that need mending, taking in, letting out, or restyling, and we do the work by hand and machine on site.
Menswear is our focus, but the aim behind the shop is simple: clothes that fit well and last longer are better than clothes that get thrown out. A good repair or alteration can give a garment a lot more years of wear.
Once a month we run a repair cafe of an evening, where people can bring in their own clothes and learn how to mend them themselves. It is a chance to pick up basic skills like sewing on a button properly, patching a hole, or taking up a hem, with help on hand if you get stuck.
